Honda Insight for Lloyds Banking Group fleet
Lloyds Banking Group has announced that its fleet will be one of the first in the UK to use the Honda Insight, Honda's latest hybrid car.
Following a deal negotiated by Lloyds TSB Autolease (LTSBA), 32 newly developed Honda Insight vehicles will form part of the Lloyds Banking Group's 'essential user' fleet, for field based employees who spend the majority of their time on the road.
The hybrid cars' low CO2 emissions will not only lower the Group's environmental impact but also generate cost savings, through lower road tax, excellent fuel economy and exemption from the London Congestion Charge.
Nigel Trotman, Fleet Manager at LTSBA, said: "We were keen to get early experience of the latest hybrid technology and were pleased to find that Honda has developed a hybrid car that's both environmentally friendly and well-suited to long distance motorway driving in a practical, 5-door car. As the first hatchback hybrid, the Honda Insight is practical and economical, enabling the Lloyds Banking Group essential user fleet to effectively reduce its carbon footprint."
Graham Avent, Manager - Corporate Operations for Honda (UK) said: "Independent figures have proved that the Insight's exceptionally low running costs could save company car fleets thousands of pounds in terms of whole life costs.
Whether it's low depreciation, strong residual values, 100 per cent write down allowance, class-leading servicing costs or great fuel economy that offers diesel mileage at petrol prices, the Insight delivers a win on all levels."
