Motorpoint records highest demand for used cars in 10 years(12/12/2008)
According to Motorpoint, demand for used cars has reached its highest level in the 10 year history of the company, which sells some 35,000 cars a year. Buoyed by savings of over 70% on equivalent new models, last month some 94.8% of all cars sold were used. This is in stark contrast to this time last year, when just over 70% of cars were used. Motorpoint is continuing to defy the doom and gloom within UK car retailing, posting its best set of sales figures for November for over three years. Figures for last month show sales were up 18.5% on the same time last year (and over 25% on two years ago) – buoyed by record savings on the nearly new Ford Mondeo, Saab 9-3, VW Passat and the Vauxhall Vectra.
