The next version of the Nissan Qashqai will be designed, engineered and built in Britain. This will safeguard 6,000 jobs, both direct and indirect through the UK supply chain.

Nissan’s year has got off to a strong start, with sales of cars and light commercial vehicles during the first three months of 2008 up 36 per cent. Qashqai and Note contribute to a total of 23,542 units sold, a 46 per cent increase and by far the greatest improvement among volume sales manufacturers.
