Garage technicians risk injury or death if they undertake work on hybrid vehicles without making sure that all power is shut down(27/07/2009)
Hybrid vehicles carry a number of batteries to power their functions, and technicians must make sure that all power sources are isolated. Following this, the vehicle must be allowed to power down for at least an hour before any work is undertaken. The Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) warns that car dealers are unable to provide PPI at the same time as finance packages sold to their customers, because of new restrictions on the sale of payment protection insurance (PPI). The Competition Commission has announced that in order to address a perceived lack of competition in the PPI market, they are to restrict the sale of PPI products by loan providers and retailers who provide loans.... Thousands of MOT Testing stations recently appraised have been sent the wrong results(12/06/2008)
The Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) has revealed that thousands of MOT Testing stations subject to a recent Government appraisal have been sent the wrong results. The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency has recently completed their baseline risk assessment for all 19,000 UK Vehicle Testing Stations (VTS).
